Great Read

I've finished both books in this series, and decided to write my review on both now. This story grabbed me, and pulled me thru time back to to 1692 . I felt the fear ,the pain and the anguish felt by the characters in this story. At times my heart was racing,then I found myself saddened and tears falling while reading what Gabriele, endured. I felt angry at the stupidity and prejudice of the Puritan.

Me Black, represents the Wiccan faith beautifully explaining what it truly is,and removing all of the falsehoods attached to it. I enjoyed this series and enjoyed the history that was woven into it as well. Her tale of Lily and Gabriel's love and faith in each other was beautiful . After finishing the beautifully written tale of time travel, history and love,I was sad to have it end but was happy with the outcome.
The series, is beautiful, I truly enjoyed it and highly recommend this series.
What was done in Salem, was despicable, innocent souls we're wrongly put to death. This story reveals the why's and the corruption that took place in the name of God.

I loved this book! It was a quick read and cleared up the questions from book one. I recommend this book after you have read book one Salem Moon. I only wish there would be a part three! Note: for those bothered by spelling or wording errors there were very few did not stop my enjoyment of this book

Reading the two book series was great as e
Witchery, demons, angels, Salem, and history all rolled up in one. It was nice to learn more abt Wiccan and how this character resolves her feelings of her heritage of being a Wiccan sorceress and also a Christian. A nice read for all.

Possibly useful for personal trainers and advanced bodybuilders, others should give it a pass. Doesn't work on Kindle device.

What do you get for a hundred bucks? Basically web bibliography pointing to articles the author has written for sites like testosterone nation.

Should that matter? Well, organizing and presenting that online material in a systematic way in theory has value, the problem is that so much of that material is written in bodybuilder jargon, e.g. " Using a traditional hip hinge like the RDL or the stiff-leg deadlift, work the descent of the movement with increased time under eccentric loading," or "... just think of turning the dumbbell shrug movement into a mosh pit at a Slip Knot concert. Don't be that guy." This certainly *sounds* like useful device, but for $100 I expect an author to put a little more effort into explaining himself, especially as he's pitched the "book" as being useful to people with only modest levels of experience.

This book has basically no illustrations or explanations; just a bunch of links to web articles/videos along with a few terse notes on proper execution that are likely only useful to someone already very familiar with the exercises. In some cases the advice requires the assistance of a personal trainer to execute (e.g. finding out exactly how far you can safely squat based on your personal anatomy with the aid of a goniometer).

Given that the Amazon description suggests this is (a) a book and (b) useful to people with only basic levels of experience, I'd be inclined to give it one star. However I'm giving it an additional star as benefit of the doubt; it seems like something that might be useful to a few people. I suggest that you google "John Rusin" on the site t-nation dot com. If these articles are useful to you individually, paying $100 to have them organized into some semblance of a program is probably a good deal. For most people it's an absurd amount of money to pay to be pointed to a bunch of web articles that probably won't mean much to them.

One final point: the ebook production values are extremely crude. It is in "Print Replica" format, which is basically just a dump of a printout (badly typeset) and DOES NOT WORK on a Kindle device -- not that that really matters since the real content is actually on the web in formats the Kindle can't handle. However the book doesn't work on the web reader either, and is extremely awkward to use on the Amazon Kindle app for Android (the links are at the bottom of the page and so attempting to access them most of the time 8/10 times brings up the page browser UI instead -- very frustrating). Basically it's only convenient to use in Amazon's desktop reader app for Mac or PC. For the price, and given the academic qualifications of the author, I was expecting an superbly produced book, not what seems more like a printout of someone's class notes.

Solid book with no "bs."

It was a good book with all of the fundamentals one needs to get great results in their fitness program based on their goals. A nice chapter on dietary advice helps the novice understand calories in relation to their personal goals as well. Being a personal trainer for over eight years, I was very pleased with this book and would recommend it to my clients.

About the Author
Herbert G. Dorsey III started researching the "New World Order" in the early 1990s after President George H. W. Bush mentioned the Fascist sounding "Order" in several of his speeches. By 2014, he had discovered enough to publish The Secret History of the New World Order. Later the same year, he also published Secret Science and the Secret Space Program based on other researches. Now, in this book, he focuses on the CIA.

A good expose of CIA crimes and terrorism.

CIA: Crime Incorporated of America is fascinating reading! Not only does Herbert Dorsey give a historical outline of the powerful and secret organizations behind the creation and operation of the CIA, he makes a powerful case that the CIA is actually secretly, run from the Vatican rather than the U.S. Presidency. If the U.S. President ran the CIA, President John F. Kennedy would never have been assassinated.
Many, including myself, have already known that the CIA assassinates people and traffics in illegal narcotics, as many other researchers have written many books on this subject. This book gives even more detail while naming names of the people and criminal organizations involved. However, even worse, Herbert Dorsey demonstrates that the CIA also secretly backs terrorist groups to carry out their covert agendas, as they did in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Libya and now Syria. ISIS is just another CIA operation.
This book is recommended reading for those of you that want to know what is really going on with our secret government.

very well written and researched, reads like a Dan Brown novel, hard to put down once I started reading it. Very exciting reading. I have always know that there are secret agendas, but Herbert has shown me what really is going on inside governments and their secret agencies. This is no conspiracy theory but the truth of what is going on. A must read for anybody who wants to know the truth.

OMG! The examples provided were exactly what I experienced in my sad journey with a narcissistic partner. Highly recommended reading if there is a narcissist in your life.

I have read a lot of information about narcissism and narcissists over the past year or so. Some of that information has been great, and some of it not so great.

This book was great.

In my situation, a once close 'friend' became involved with a narcissist (later confirmed through testing).

Unfortunately, the narcissist became aware that I knew there was something not right about them (largely due to warning the friend what they were like), and they were able to successfully isolate the person from me and others.

This book was almost a play by play call of what happened, and unfortunately, what is still happening.

Knowing what to look out for and the techniques they use to manipulate and entrap their victims is very helpful, not only to outsiders, but also for the victim.

The hard part is getting the victim to read the book, or at least getting them to open their eyes as to what is going on.

The book had a large number of spelling mistakes and incorrectly used words, but overall was easy reading. Because some words were incorrect, on occasions, sentences had to be re-read to ensure the context was right, but it wasn't too bad.

He built the backing infrastructures at Salon.com, InfoWorld.com, Friendster, and Flickr. He is now VP of Tech Operations at Etsy, and is the author of "The Art of Capacity Planning" and "Web Operations" published by O'Reilly.

It’s like having your own personal DevOps Guru.

Having recently completed reading, The Devops Handbook: How to Create World-class Agility, Reliability, and Security in Technology Organizations, by Gene Kim, Jez Humble, John Willis, and Patrick Debois I was energized to share my thoughts on this important reading. I found the six part handbook easy to read and a great compliment to The Phoenix Project and The Goal. The authors articulate very well in answering the often ask question of how to implement the DevOps philosophy into your organization. They do this in part by reintroducing and discussing in detail the “Three Ways” that was discussed in The Phoenix Project. But this is more than an introduction. It is a comprehensive guide and it is backed up with excellent case studies that are fluidly integrated into the chapters. Additionally, examples of various DevOps tools are discussed throughout the book. The final five chapters discuss the practices of continual learning and experimentation and of integrating information security, change management and compliance into your DevOps practice. If you are having challenges in transforming your IT organization’s culture to adapt DevOps this is a must read book. It’s like having your own personal DevOps Guru.

An excellent reference but a very difficult read

I did an independent study in econometrics as a doctoral student in educational policy studies, and some of the readings were taken from the first edition of Kmenta's Elements of Econometrics. At the time, I recognized that Kmenta's text was long and difficult, but it was also clear that some topics that were simply unreadable in other econometric accounts, especially Jack Johnston's Econometric Methods, were presented with greater clarity and less mathematical density by Kmenta. For me, the fact that most of Kmenta's account did not require a working knowledge of matrix algebra was a definite plus.

That was thirty years ago, and I have since bought a copy of the second edition of Kmenta's book. No less demanding than the first edition, Kmenta's updated text remains comprehensive and wonderfully informative. As with the first edition, moreover, the second edition avoids undue reliance on matrix algebra.

I have learned, however, that for my purposes this book serves best as a reference. When I was having trouble understanding maximum likelihood methods for the estimation of regression coefficients, I turned to Kmenta and found an accessible explanation, as well as a graphical account that brought the notion of maximum likelihood to life, making it seem almost commonsensical. Similarly, when I struggled to learn why procedures such as tobit were useful as an antidote to certain forms of sample selection bias, I turned to Kemnta and found what I needed. This included a clearer understanding of just what sample selection bias means in this context.

I have read substantial chunks of Kmenta's book, but I doubt that I will ever sit down and undertake the daunting task of reading it from start to finish. Nevertheless, Kmenta's second edition occupies a conspicuous and important place on my book shelf precisely because it serves so usefully as a reference. For those of us who are often forced to work on or just beyond the borders of our readily available statistical knowledge, this text is well worth the price.

As an afterthought, I was recently gratified when Kmenta gave a very mixed, not particularly flattering review to Angrist and Pische's Mostly Harmless Econometrics. The title of the book is misleading, as is the subtitle ("An Empiricist's Companion"), inviting the reader to surmise that it is a general introduction to econometrics. As Kmenta makes clear in his review, this is definitely not the case. The book presupposes a good deal of econometric knowledge, and is narrowly focused on the work of labor economists. Kmenta also takes issue with some technical details.

Walks through proofs of basic concepts

Previewing textbooks to teach my political science graduate students, I have noticed that econometrics textbooks generally fall into two broad categories:
1) Basic introductions that rely more heavily on examples than proofs
2) Books on advanced topics that provide proofs.

There are very few texts that provide proofs of basic econometric techniques. Kmenta's Elements of Econometrics is one of those few books. In roughly 700 pages, it provides a thorough introduction to linear regression and supports this introduction with exceptionally clear proofs. The book is far from exhaustive in the topics it covers and there are texts with better examples, but you will be hard pressed to find a text with a better presentation of the proofs underlying these foundational building blocks.

A Classic.

I had the fortune of taking two undergraduate statistics courses under Professor Kmenta just prior to his retirement at the University of Michigan. The first was a standard introductory statistics course for economics majors, the second a more advanced class for honors students. Of course, this was the text assigned for those courses.

Since then, I have read other Statistics textbooks, and few, if any, will provide you with a more fundamental understanding of what statistics is and how it works than "Elements of Econometrics".

As other reviewers have noted, this textbook may not be the best introduction to statistics for people without a solid mathematical background. But even if your mathematical skills are on the rusty side, if you are willing to put forth the effort, I think that you will find yourself well rewarded with a more profound knowledge of statistics than you will find elsewhere. If on the other hand, you are looking for a quick primer on how to do simple regressions, for example, then you may be better off looking elsewhere.
