...left me craving more!

This short story is hard to rate because it's literally the first six chapters of a book; the following chapters are scheduled to be published January 2013. Due to this it's an extreme cliff hanger. With that said, it left me craving more. I gave the book 3.5 stars because there are too many unknown details. I feel Steel and Lace (book 1) and Whiskey and Lace (book 2), combined, may be a great story, but at this point I am left unfulfilled. As an avid reader it's hard for me to read a small portion of a story, read other books, and then return and proceed where I left off.

The characters thus far are magnetic. Carter Morgan, the exceptionally hot billionaire/CEO is too familiar with getting what he wants; and he's good at getting it! Eva Austin seems to be a charismatic character, even tempered, and prefers to control her own destiny (again the book is short, so the characters have not been fully developed). Carter, who is known to favor models, swoops in and targets Eva, a fashion editor. Carter's possessive and controlled persona makes Eva unquestionably apprehensive and shy. Will she dive in head first to Carter's seduction? ...only the author knows, the book ended. Someone please grant me patience.

This book reminds me of Fifty Shades, Bared to You, and Knight; all these books are superb. The Lace series may be a good contender to these, but it's impossible to confirm this assumption until the remaining books are published.

Cliff notes version of the Crossfire Series

I didn't hate this book, but only because I love the Crossfire Series and this is basically the short version. There were way too many similarities. I was pretty disappointed.

Speechless!

Anyone who has had babies knows that this isn't a stretch of the imagination. There are days and weeks, these moments that come to us where we just want to stop and breathe.

I can't say that I have fallen to that dark of a place, but I have seen the frustration to the point of wanting to leave. Does that make me a horrible person, no it makes me and everyone else human.

The path to forgiveness for this couple was amazing and completely exhausting! Everyone emotion that they felt I felt like I was living it with them. Depression is a topic that is hard to put into a romance novel and it still be tasteful. Kudos to the author for pulling it off in such a beautiful way.

To anyone wondering if they should one click, do it. You won't regret it. You might need a fee tissues, but it's totally worth it!

Leddy is a champion at writing an emotionally charged story that will leave your heart full of many emotions.

I understand some readers want to know if this story has the HEA. Just know that Leddy will give you every detail you need and leaving you feeling complete. As for the main female character, Edie. Edie is a worthy female character as is Beth who is a secondary character. Donnie the male character is a man that other men should have as a role model. Donnie is a diamond in the rough. We need men like Donnie in our world. Leddy portrayed all characters in her story showing tremendous support and strength.
As for the story. My best way to explain without giving any spoilers is to say read it. Experience it for yourself. If you can handle an emotional journey and are up for the adventure of conquering life's choices then proceed to read My Biggest Mistake.
Edie will take you on a ride that will have you grabbing the bars for dear life. Her choices were not easy to make. Her reasons were not easy to bare. But her truth is what found her peace.
So as the story goes, Edie is taking steps to earn her place back into the life of her family.Edie has a clear understanding of what she did. Edie even understands Donnie's reaction to her return. She takes his behavior with the utmost of strength. Edie sets out her new goals in life by focusing on reacquainting herself with her children. Edie's character delivers an emotional confession of her true feelings. She lays it out on the line.There are so many layers to Edie's mistake and so many people affected by the mistake as well as new mistakes made. It's a domino effect. Edie started a pattern of mistakes. Edie has a lot of work ahead of her.
I cannot imagine being in a situation such as this one. In fact I have never encountered a person in my life who has done this. I sit here and read with an open mind allowing Leddy's words to guide me thru an interesting journey. I have no idea how she plans to correct her mistake. It's refreshing to read a story and be absolutely uncertain of the direction it's headed. Every word and action is a complete surprise.
There are multi layers to this story. One being why did she leave? Second how does she plan to earn her place back into her family? Third what is this secret she is keeping?
Leddy is holding out on me. Leddy is crafty in her deliverance of information. Leddy has purposely chosen to hold back a secret that is setting the course for this story.
Leddy's story was carefully orchestrated giving the reader what they could handle little by little. Our minds could only process the grief of Edie's depression one step at a time.
Leddy did a fantastic job at crafting Donnie, Edie, and Beth's characters. Each character was introduced and developed at the perfect moment. What they brought to the story enhanced the emotions from me in the story.
I love how Leddy lays all emotions out and then follows with questions that cover every angle to how Edie is feeling. It's a well thought out process.
Leddy does an excellent job explaining in words Donnie's grief and pain and on the other side Edie's reaction to those words. I feel every word. I'm there in the moment,like a fly on the wall, listening in and silently observing this unfold.
What I would not give to read those journals myself.
I learned that love comes in many forms. Love really can conquer quite a bit in life.
I sit here and want to form the perfect words to describe to other readers what I felt when reading Leddy's story. But let's face it the way I react to her words are simply my reactions and I can only share my feelings. But trust me if you enjoy therapeutic and emotional stories I guarantee you will enjoy this story. It's not the typical type of love story you come to find all over book forums. It's real life. It's what really happens to some people but some people are unable to face the fear of their own weakness. Just as Donnie had stated,"had I known or looked harder I could have helped". That is the true mystery about people is never truly understanding their intent of words or actions. We speculate about a person based on what they provide. We take for granted what they give. We get boggled and rundown with daily routines. When do we stop and truly appreciate what our partner brings to the other? Do we fully understand what is happening inside of them to cause they to react and behave a certain way? These questions surfaced in my mind while reader Leddy's story. Leddy's story had a way of attaching these characters in my mind and I pondered all day and night. I reflect on the emotions and situations she created comparing them to my life.
Thank you Leddy for sharing this story. Never doubt your ability to produced a great story. Your words have a huge impact on people. While I never experienced this level of depression I still found areas where I connected and shared with Edie's choices.

Beautiful and powerful

This is one of the most beautifully emotional, heartbreaking stories I have ever read. I love an emotional read, a story that sucks me in and makes me believe the characters are real and makes me feel for them. This did that. I had to stop, several times to regroup. I suffer from depression and I have never been able to articulate to anyone how I feel, especially my loved ones. This books does that, some of the paragraphs could have been written by me, and I am sure many others out there feel the same. A very powerful story that I am glad I read.

Had no idea about the book but was buying it for my daughter undertaking law degree. I only realised the importance of the blacks law dictionary to my daughter when I saw her joy n the many thanks I received from her. Thanks for making the dictionary available on amazon at affordable price.

Perfect book for the legal world!

I have been in law school for about to years and this book has made it ten times easier when it comes to legal terms! I absolutely love this book and can use it throughout my career. Perfect buy and will recommend to co-workers and more!

Must have for law newbies

Significant improvements, additions and changes have been made to this since at least the 5th edition which is the next most recent edition I was able to get my hands on at the bookshelf of my firm. I use it daily. It rarely, if ever, lets me down when I need to look up legal terms, with all their specific contexts and respective meanings. And yes, it will explain terms MUCH better than googling things and hoping you land on sources that know as much as Black's.

Hang Onto Your Seat...

Charlotte is a poetry-loving bookworm who's rebounding from a bad breakup. Carter is a cocky motocross racer who shines in the spotlight. And as luck would have it, they're step-siblings with a relationship that's getting more complicated by the minute.

For years, they've been avoiding and running from their feelings, but all that's about to change in a big, big way. These pages are seriously crackling sexual tension as their mutual attraction grows and temptation proves harder and harder to resist.

All I can say is hang onto your seat, because the final chapter of this book brings it home in a big, big way. When I finished, all I could say was, "Wow!"

If you're looking for a spicy page-turner with compelling characters, this one is definitely worth a read.

Cocky, indeed!

I've been a fan of Amy Silva since I first read RECOURSE, and when I saw TORN, I knew how I was going to be spending part of my evening! In true Silva tradition, this is a quick, hot read -- and by hot, I mean "inferno." Is stepbrother Carter cocky? You bet he is, and we wouldn't want him any other way,. At the same time, we see a surprising streak of tenderness in him toward Charlotte and those who would harm her heart. Um, not a good idea there, Zed.

The tension between Charlotte and Carter builds at a great pace, culminating in a wowser of a last chapter. (Make sure you're sitting down for that, or better yet, lying down.) While not a cliffhanger -- we got what we came for in this story! -- the ending leaves the tantalizing possibility of a sequel. I couldn't stop laughing over "s*x with a Pegasus." I Googled it, and if it existed before this book, then I didn't find it. Something tells me that might find its way onto Urban Dictionary...

Story wasn't that interesting. Either you do or you don't want to cross that line. I waited the whole book for something to happen and nothing did. Not even a kiss.

I was eager to find out what awaited our hero in this next book in the series and L. Lee Watkins didn't let us down. For those who have read the series so far, you'll enjoy the surprise twist to his love life. It was a well told story that moved at a swift pace. Good characters and dialog made this another great addition to the Dallas Kincade saga. I read the teaser for the next book and can hardly wait to see what happens next!

One thing is certain there will be a surprise. Dr. Edmiston, now retired, is a specialist in eighteenth-century French literature. He has published books on Diderot, the French novel, and Sade. For 32 years, he taught an advanced undergraduate/graduate course on contemporary France.

The best soft tissue resource for pathologists

This is "the" source for soft tissue tumors for residents and staff alike. The descriptions are concise, and the organization of chapters is good. This book is well-written and never dry (well...it's as un-dry as a medical textbook on tumors can be). This is an outstanding source for soft tissue neoplasms. I recommend this book highly. I read certain parts of it for my Pathology boards, which I passed, and give partial credit to this book for my success. This book is really good. However, if you're on a budget, you should definitely consider the WHO Soft Tissue book. It's got the same material but is a LOT cheaper. You will not miss out on anything if you get the WHO book. At some point, though, when your budget loosens up, you need to get this book.

Excellent book in surgical pathology

This book, although apparently volimnous, represents the first book to be read as the first step on the journey of surgical pathology. It does illustrate some important issue with regard the basic facts within the surgical pathology realm. The reader will find that the majority of this book is in the form of excellent illustrating photographs (as must be in all surgical pathology textbooks) to the extent you will be somehow familiar with these tumors. The differential diagnosis section at each entity makes the reader to feel exactly as if in soft tissue pathology seminar. You will get more experience in examining any case even outside the field of soft tissue taking into account the patient age, tumor location, tumor edge, the histopathologic clues, and of course interpretation of immunohistochemical results. You will learn more about the value of electron microscopy with great ease even if you don't care about it.

Fantastic resource for soft tissue pathology for residents

This book is very well-organized and the index is great. Although the size of the book is somewhat daunting - the quality of the photos and the many examples shown for each entity is phenomenal. In my mind, this book is really a soft tissue atlas with abundant text. The text is concise, but thorough and doesn't put you to sleep. I like this book better than the WHO book simply because each entity has numerous examples showing the various permutations and the pictures are color and half-page in size. Shop around, I found this book brand new for nearly half the price!

Great for PA school clinical year

I am a PA student in my clinical year. I used this book almost exclusively to help prepare for my PAEA end of rotation exam. This book helped me to do very well on my EOR - much better than I was expecting or hoping for. The topics emphasized in this book were very similar to the topics emphasized on the exam and some of the practice questions were almost identical to exam questions. I would highly recommend this to any PA student - especially for clinicals and EOR exams.

I think this book is great. A case based approach works better for me and it helps me retain more. I loved that that they had two table of contents organized by order in the book and by topic.
