It's good. Maybe not really great.

There's a lot of good stuff in here. And it's frankly a daunting topic which runs from Linux admin; thru EE; writing code in Python, Java and Arduino's lanuguage; and network admin.

I guess my biggest complaint is the lack of follow thru (this obviously wasn't edited by O'Reilly).

In several places, he assures us that the example code can be downloaded from the "book's companion website" and yet the URL of that site is unavailable. Nor can this site be found via the wide variety of Google search strings I tried. The publisher does not list it on their web site.

The book has no appendices. One helpful appendix might have listed all the parts required for the various projects. Another might have listed URL's and other contact info for the vendors and blogs listed in the text.

It's a good book. I would recommend it. But it's a bit rough around the edges.

About the Author
Jason De León is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Michigan and Director of the Undocumented Migration Project, a long-term anthropological study of clandestine border crossings between Mexico and the United States. His academic work has been featured in numerous media outlets, including National Public Radio, the New York Times Magazine, Al Jazeera magazine, The Huffington Post, and Vice magazine. In 2013, De León was named a National Geographic Emerging Explorer.

I think this book gives great insight on what migrants have to go through when crossing them border to get to America. Even though I do not agree with what the author said about some things, this book was written very well and drew me in from the moment I started reading this book. I would definitely recommend people to read this book to learn a bit about migration and immigration policies.

About the Author
Kerri Rivera is a native of Chicago, but has the lived the last 18 years of her life in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with her husband. Both of her sons were born there, and 12-year-old Patrick is currently in autism recovery. Kerri is the founder of Autism02, a non-profit autism clinic based on what is formerly known as the Defeat Autism Now! approach. Located in Puerto Vallarta, the clinic opened in 2006. Kerri is the clinic s biomedical consultant as well as a consultant for Curando El Autismo (Latin America), and Venciendo el Autismo (Venezuela). At the request of Dr. Bernard Rimland, she was responsible for translating the Defeat Autism Now! protocol to Spanish and donating it to the Autism Research Institute, so it could be applied throughout Latin America. Since then she has helped over 3,500 families in over 44 countries to improve the lives of their children on the autism spectrum. She has become the foremost expert on the use of CD (chlorine dioxide) for spectrum disorders. Don't try it.

Chlorine Dioxide won't cure autism. Instead it will get you killed and it's not meant to be inside a human body. In fact it's toxic. So don't be fooled by any positive comments you see. Autistic people don't need to be cured. They need to be understood. Autism is not a freaking disease. I'm autistic and proud.

Their treatment is essentially giving extremely concentrated bleach to children... the same stuff you clean your bathroom with.

"ISSUE: FDA warned consumers not to consume or use Miracle Mineral Solution, an oral liquid solution also known as "Miracle Mineral Supplement" or "MMS." The product, when used as directed, produces an industrial bleach that can cause serious harm to health. The product instructs consumers to mix the 28 percent sodium chlorite solution with an acid such as citrus juice. This mixture produces chlorine dioxide, a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment. High oral doses of this bleach, such as those recommended in the labeling, can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration."

This treatment will be a cure only in that if you do enough of it, you may not have an autistic child anymore.

Do not kill your kids

Before you read this book you all need to know what the CD protocol entails. You are basically feeding and bathing your child in bleach. Your child will become physically ill, this is not because it is clearing them of non existent toxins and "autism parasites". Your child will become ill because you are killing them, by feeding them bleach. Please use common sense and do not harm your child. I really cannot believe that Amazon would even sell this book that promotes torture, and child abuse. The author and pushers of this protocol are disgusting human beings who should used this protocol on themselves. Some people will do anything to make a dollar, apparently even harm innocent children.

About the Author
Adam Greco is a longstanding member of the web analytics community who has consulted with hundreds of clients across every industry vertical. Mr. Greco began his web analytics career managing the website for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and then became one of the founders of the Omniture (now Adobe) Consulting group. While at Omniture, Mr. Greco managed accounts large and small and helped clients maximize their use of SiteCatalyst. This book is a must-read for Adobe SiteCatalyst users. It not only covers the basics, but advanced topics and creative uses of the solution too. I recommend it for any digital analytics team's library, and for analysts to buy as a home copy.

Extremely Good Book on SiteCatalyst

This is an excellent book on Adobe SiteCatalyst, written by one of the predominant leaders on the software, Adam Greco. If you want to understand, in depth, the technical side of SC, then this book is for you. I bought it for this very reason. However, a need did arise after purchasing the book for more in depth information/guidance on how to actually use SiteCatalyst. I would have liked the book to have covered SiteCatalyst's Reporting capabilities. Specifically, tips on reporting as well as examples (best practices) of reports people, or even Mr. Greco, have built with SC in the past.

I learn best from real world examples, use cases, etc., but will defend this book in any day of the week!

ONE of the deciding factors when I bought this book was that it was published in 2013 and most importantly, the information provided is timely and relevant to the most recent version of SiteCatalyst.

Well Done Mr. Greco!

Final advice...If you have anything to do, in any way or role whatsoever, with SiteCatalyst, BUY THIS BOOK!

Should be included with every SiteCatalyst implementation

This book literally has anything and everything you could ever want to know about Adobe SiteCatalyst: features you never knew existed, features you are using but not using to their fullest potential and the best explanation you'll ever get on how the features you are currently using actually work. Having gone through a re-implementation of SiteCatalyst in the past year I wish I had had this book before hand but there are just as many improvements we can make to correct these issues based on what is in Adam's book. Honestly every SiteCatalyst user should read this book to ensure they are getting the most they possibly can out of the tool. Adam does not exaggerate his "Insider" status.
